Henley-in-Arden is a small town and civil parish in Warwickshire, England and is located 9 miles south of Solihull, 9 miles east of Redditch and 18 miles southwest of Coventry. The postcode for the town of Henley-in-Adren is B95 and the town has a population of approximately 2,000.

The town is not mentioned in the Domesday Book which lead to the conclusion that is was not established until the 12th century when the first historic evidence of Henley appears during the reign of Henry II.  Originally, the town was a hamlet of Wootton Wawen and lay on the route out of the Forest of Arden.  Today’s town is comprised of the former villages of Henley and Beaudesert, where a castle was built in the 11th century.  The town flourished under the influence of the castle, the permission to hold a weekly market and its location on the road between Birmingham and Stratford.  However, Henley’s development suffered a major setback during the Second Barons’ War in 1265 when the royalist forces burned the town and the castle. Still, Henley managed to recover and even became a borough in 1296. It continued to prosper until the English Civil War in the 15th century when it was plundered by Prince Rupert.  In Victorian times, Henley had three private lunatic asylums that are all closed now.

Henley is located near the M40 from Bromsgrove to London over Redditch, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Southam, Banbury, Brackley, Bicester, Oxford and High Wycombe, the M42 connecting Appleby Parva, Birchwood, Tamworth, Bodymoor Heath, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Marston Green and Solihull and the M5 motorway from Exeter to Birmingham over Cullompton, Wellington, Taunton, Highbridge, Burnham-on-Sea, Winscombe, Clevedon, Bristol, Wotton-under-Edge, Dursley, Stonehouse, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Droitwich Spa, Bromsgrove and Halesowen.
