The name of Macclesfield originated from “Michael’s field”, referring to St. Michael from the St. Michael’s Church located in the city centre. Moreover, Macclesfield is located 12 miles southeast of Manchester Airport, which is the most important UK airport outside Greater London's Heathrow Airport.
