Cobham Plc signs for South Coast offices

Aerospace technology provider to move to 43,000 sq ft offices in Southampton

Cobham plc, an international company engaged in the development, delivery and support of leading edge aerospace and defence technology and systems, is set to take up new office space in Southampton at Fusion 2, a 43,000 sq ft office building within Greenhills’ 150,000 sq ft Fusion development at Solent Business Park.

The Solent facility will house a number of the Group’s existing surveillance businesses currently situated on three smaller sites, which will close, including offices in Waterlooville, Hartley Wintney and Segensworth, all in Hampshire.

As a world-leader in its field, Cobham provides products and integrated surveillance solutions for law enforcement and public safety, counter-terrorism and intelligence, border surveillance, military & force protection, critical infrastructure protection, unmanned systems and broadcast applications.

The deal on behalf of Greenhills, was brokered by the South Coast team of Lambert Smith Hampton and represents the largest office deal in the region in 18 months.

The quoting rent of £18.25 was agreed, on a new ten year lease. A complete fit-out of the brand new space is currently underway, with Cobham due to take occupation from April 2011.
