Q-Cells SE, one of the world’s largest photovoltaic companies, is entering the UK market and will shortly be opening offices in London. The UK is one of the fastest growing solar markets in Europe at present, with Government forecasts predicting the UK annual PV market to grow from 5 MWp installed in 2009 to 140 MWp in 2012. This strategic step continues the successful expansion of Q-Cells’ global sales activities with country offices in Berlin, Rome, Paris, San Francisco, Sydney, Tokyo, Hangzhou and Bangalore.
Q-Cells has been presenting its product portfolio at the Ecobuild trade fair in London this week. Ecobuild is the world’s largest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment and the UK’s largest construction event of any kind. Over 50,000 visitors are expected to attend, with over 1,300 suppliers showcasing products.
Commenting on Q-Cells planned new offices in the UK, Hans-Gerd Füchtenkort, Executive Board Member, Marketing & Sales said: "We see the UK as a strategically important market and another step in expanding our global business. With a high degree of home ownership and promising feed-in-tariff legislation we are confident that the UK market offers great potential. The ‘Q’ in Q-Cells stands for quality - which is guaranteed for Q-Cells products, from the solar cells to solar modules to systems.”
