Media giant Sky has taken additional office space in Stockport at its St Peter’s Square offices. The home entertainment company now occupies two thirds of the property which is owned by BAM Properties.

Commenting on the expansion, Kerrie-Anne Miller, director of service, at Sky told that the additional space will accommodate extra customer service staff at the site which is one of its customer contact centres.

“Stockport has already provided Sky with an excellent team of people," she said. "We place the customer at the heart of everything we do and we now need more talented, enthusiastic and committed employees to help maintain the high standards we set ourselves.”

Neil Mort, development manager of Salford-based BAM Properties, said: “The Sky letting is a great start to 2011 and with other interest being shown in the remaining space, which includes a retail unit and suites of 2,697 sq ft upwards, it looks very positive.”

Sky has over 10m customers and 16,500 employees. It has 21 UK offices with and additional four customer contact centres, three of which are at offices in Scotland, the other at offices in Leeds.
