Offices in the North of the UK have been recognised for excellence in the BCO Regional Awards 2011. The winners of the BCO North of England, North Wales and Northern Ireland Regional Awards were announced last night at a prestigious ceremony held at the Radisson Edwardian Manchester.
Winning the category for best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace was 10SP, 10 South Parade in Leeds.
The scheme was praised for transforming a tired 1970s office building into a Grade A modern office building which is taking on and competing against the very best brand new buildings providing office space in Leeds city centre.
Located in the centre of Leeds’ Business District, 10SP is a beautifully redesigned building where the developer, Wilton Developments, has uncompromisingly created a sensational office space of the highest quality. Using exemplary architectural design and finishes, the team has created an excellent workspace that complements the radiant reception areas and striking interior.
Other awards went to offices in Manchester, Wakefield, Northern Ireland and Sheffield.
Tony Hordon, Director of Business Space, DTZ, and BCO Judging Chair for the North of England, North Wales and Northern Ireland, said: "The focus of the BCO Awards is to judge buildings from a multi-disciplinary point of view, focussing on aspects such as architectural flair, economic and sustainable construction with fitness for purpose for users of the space. We had a very high standard of entries this year that have really delivered fantastic workspaces for the end user and I'd like to congratulate our winners."
