New York-based investment managers BlackRock have appointed CBRE to find them 70,000 sq ft of new office space in Edinburgh which could lead to the largest letting in the Scottish city this year.
BlackRock, who’s UK headquarters are at offices in the City of London, announced back in March that it planned a twofold increase of its Edinburgh workforce by the end of the year, which would necessitate a relocation from existing offices on Torphichen Street.
At the time of the announcement in March, Stewart Carracher, head of BlackRock’s Edinburgh office, commented: “We have made a firm commitment to expand our operations in Edinburgh and look forward to the next stage of our development here.”
Options which could be considered include the newly developed Haymarket scheme (pictured) owned by Tiger Developments or the Foster + Partners designed Quartermile in the heart of the city.
