120,000 sq ft of sustainable office space planned in regeneration scheme

Bruntwood has revealed their redevelopment plans for City House, a landmark building situated in the centre of Leeds, directly above the train station. Bruntwood’s aspiration is to regenerate the building to provide high specification sustainable office space at the Leeds city centre scheme, accommodating all business sizes. The 120,000 sq ft development was acquired by Bruntwood in July 2010 and will provide flexible space from a single desk for one day to a whole building for 25 years.
City House stands tall at 14 storeys with the upper floors boasting panoramic views of the city. The building will benefit from a new contemporary entrance foyer and mezzanine reception, with concierge style service providing a friendly and professional welcome.
Head of Sales and Development, Craig Burrow said: “City House will benefit from meticulous design, precision craftsmanship and the highest quality materials to ensure it impresses on every level. We are currently finalising our design and expect to submit a planning application very soon. The specification will be Grade A as we target a ‘BREEAM Excellent’ rating but it will be priced to appeal to a wide range of occupiers. Our aim is to develop vibrant and well-functioning places that create the right environments for our customers.”
Bruntwood acquired the first of their five buildings in Leeds in 2004 and completed refurbishments on 190,000 sq ft by mid 2005. The total ownership of office space in Leeds is now 390,000 sq ft, including developments such as West One and 14 King Street.
Craig Burrow also commented: “A 96% occupancy rate in Leeds is just one indication of how well customers have responded to the Bruntwood way of doing business here and City House will be another successful addition. We aim to spot the potential that exists in parts of the urban fabric that many others may disregard.”
