Buckinghamshire office development to go ahead
Developers proceed with new Chalfont St Peter offices despite opposition from local residents
Article posted: 03 May 2011
The extension of an office development in a Buckinghamshire village is still causing concern for local residents despite having been granted full planning permission by the local council.
Barwood Developments applied to Chiltern District Council earlier in the year for permission to construct a further three offices in Chalfont St Peter adjacent to an existing property which comprises 31,500 sq ft of office space and which is fully let to RWS Translations Ltd, which relocated staff from offices in Gerrards Cross and London in January 2011.
Residents are worried not only about being overlooked by office workers but also that the new offices will be imposing and cause congestion in the area with the amount of extra traffic coming in to the village.
Regardless of the concerns of local residents, Barwood is going ahead with the development and will be on site in June to commence construction of an additional three office buildings at the Chiltern Park scheme. Pre-lets have already been agreed for two of the buildings, one for light manufacturer Zumbotel and the other for imports company Rhone Products.
Barwood Developments is based at offices in Northampton and markets itself as one of the leading independent privately owned property companies in the UK.
