Two Capita Symonds projects have been nominated at the RICS North West Awards.
St Peter’s Square is a £7.5m office development on the site of a former cinema providing 57,000 sq ft of Grade A office space in Stockport town centre. It brings the first Grade A office building to the centre of the town where most of the existing stock is dated and expensive to maintain 1960s and 1970s vintage.
The building is part of wider plans to transform St Peter’s Square into a new public square and cultural quarter. The landmark office building is predominantly occupied by Sky.
Capita Symonds provided cost management services on the project on behalf of BAM Properties Limited.
The Point, the new £12m hospitality and events facility at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Old Trafford ground, was nominated in the ‘Tourism & Leisure’ category, while St Peter’s Square, Stockport, was nominated in the ‘Commercial’ category.
The Point is part of the first phase of the ground’s redevelopment which also includes a new outfield. A team from Capita Symonds provided civil, structural and geotechnical consultancy services on the first phase of the scheme on behalf of the main contractor Morgan Sindall.
The awards take place today.
