Construction workers have celebrated reaching the highest point of the new headquarters for Greater Manchester Police's (GMP's) operations in the north of the city. The building, located in Newton Heath's Central Park, is part of major reorganisation of police premises in north Manchester worth £56 million.
A topping out ceremony was held on the roof of the new structure yesterday (January 26th), with senior police officers and representatives of developer Ask:Goodman in attendance.
When complete, the development will provide GMP with 50,000 sq ft of new office space in Manchester.
"This will boost the vibrant business community already based here and proves that Central Park is the ideal location for many businesses," said David Burkinshaw on behalf of Ask:Goodman.
Situated next to the new Force HQ at the Newton Heath complex, the building is due for completion in November this year.
Manchester-based Ask Developments now has a portfolio containing 20 separate projects offering 11 million sq ft of office space.
