Computer 2000 has acquired 47,821 sq ft of office space in Basingstoke within the building known as Redwood 2 at MEPC's Chineham Park committing to a ten year lease at £16 per sq ft. The deal represents Basingstoke's biggest office letting for the past six years.
Computer 2000 is part of TechData, a global distributor of technology products, which is ranked 109th on the 2010 FORTUNE 500 list. It will be moving to Redwood 2 to provide its business with a better quality platform to support its expansion, as staff numbers grow towards 500.
Rupert Batho, managing director of Chineham Park, said: "To be able to facilitate an office letting of this scale in this market once again demonstrates the attractiveness of MEPC Chineham Park to global organisations and those in the technology sector. I am pleased to be able to welcome Computer 2000 to Chineham Park and look forward to working with them over the coming years."
Philip James, financial director of Computer 2000, said: "Our future strategy is built around sustainable growth. We needed better-quality offices to support our expansion and also wanted to stay within Basingstoke to make any move easier for our staff. Chineham Park is an ideal location with an excellent standard of office space and a thriving community of successful businesses."
Computer 2000 was advised by Cushman & Wakefield.
