Cardiff design agency offers free office space to build “West Coast” creative hub

The Info Group in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, is inviting web designers, marketers, media buyers and PR professionals to join a collective of creative services by offering free office space in Cardiff at its Village Studio base. The idea is to form a vibrant, creative hub with creatives sharing ideas and collaborating on projects.

“It’s a radical move for us,” said David Hopkins. “We have been successful as graphic designers for more than 20 years, but we have space in our studios to do more. We can now support creative talent by inviting them to join us here. They would still have their own clients, but would also have the opportunity to work with us and the others who join us to offer a more comprehensive set of services to new, potentially bigger clients.”

Mr Hopkins envisages the collective potentially including a web designer, marketer and events organiser, public relations professional, media buyer, print buyer and account handler. Each would have desk space and use of meeting rooms, broadband, copying and print facilities, as well as access to The Info Group’s high-quality graphic design studio that works in branding, print, exhibitions and promotions. They would continue to work independently, but would be expected to contribute to the collective as a whole.

“I think it will be a very attractive idea for self-employed professionals, who may be working at home and thinking of renting space,” said Mr Hopkins. “Some people may think this seems too good to be true, but it is a genuine free offer. I’m keen to support and encourage young businesses that complement our skills. We would involve our new colleagues in projects as appropriate and would expect them to use us for appropriate graphic design work.”
