Graham Group offices win RICS UK Award
Headquarters building in Northern Ireland named UK’s most sustainable building

A County Down company's office has been named the UK's most sustainable building in the UK at the recent RICS UK Awards, beating competition from elite contenders such as a multi-million pound Canary Wharf landmark opened by The Queen.
The headquarters building of construction firm Graham in Hillsborough won the Sustainability category, finishing ahead of dozens of prestigious projects from right across the UK.
The offices, just south of Belfast, were recognised for their environmentally friendly design earlier this year when they won a BCO Corporate Workplace award for incorporating a commitment to sustainable construction, making the building recognised by many as one of Northern Ireland's greenest workplaces.
It is, remarkably, the third year in four that a Northern Ireland project has won the Sustainability category of the RICS UK Awards, following in the footsteps of The New Library at Queen’s University Belfast in 2010 and The Orchard Building at Stranmillis University College in 2008.
Commenting on the awards, RICS President See Lian Ong said: “The winners of the RICS Awards looked beyond the aesthetic role of property to create usable solutions that meet some of the most important challenges facing communities today. From sustainability and regeneration to social cohesion and conservation of the environment, their achievements are exemplified not only by the high regard in which they are held by industry, but also by the satisfaction and wellbeing derived by the communities in which their projects are located.
Also recognised and commended in the sustainability category was KPMG for its offices in Canary Wharf at 15 Canada Square.
