Stanhope receives planning permission for office refurbishment

Privately held development company Stanhope has been granted planning permission for the refurbishment and repositioning of office space in King’s Cross at Mabledon Place on Euston Road, WC1.
The 1970s office building fronts Euston Road and lies within the wider King’s Cross regeneration area.
The architect for the scheme is Bennetts Associates with Arup appointed both structural and services engineer on the 90,000 sq ft project which will get underway in June this year with an estimated completion date of December 2013.
Meanwhile, across town, in a joint venture with Mitsui Fudosan, Stanhope is to progress the development of new office space in the City of London at 70 Mark Lane, EC3.
The 90%/10% JV have completed the purchase of the development site from Schroder Property Investment management for £19.5m.
The island site, also designed by Bennetts Associates, has planning consent for 177,000 sq ft of prime office and retail space and is targeting a BREEAM ’Excellent’ rating.
