Article posted: 22 Nov 2011

Highcross has sold a 1.76 acre site at its Lakeside North Harbour Business Park in Portsmouth to Inchcape Estates Ltd for a new car retail centre.

The building will be located at the eastern edge of the Lakeside North Harbour business park and will be accessed by the new entrance, which is currently under construction, off Western Road.

Highcross’ phased expansion of the Lakeside North Harbour business park will ultimately comprise almost 1 million sq ft of new development, including office buildings alongside the lake, a hotel and facilities for businesses located at the scheme. Detailed planning consent was recently granted for a new retail hub in front of the 1000 Lakeside office building.

1000 Lakeside comprises office space at the gateway to Portsmouth providing high quality accommodation for businesses of all sizes, including managed office solutions from Regus.

Nick Turner, asset management director at Highcross, comments: “Inchcape’s decision to locate a new retail centre at Lakeside North Harbour is another indicator of the quality and excellent location of the business park, which has also been evident in the record lettings achieved at the scheme’s 1000 Lakeside office building this year.”

Agents for Highcross at Lakeside North Harbour business park are Hughes Ellard and Vail Williams. Inchcape Estates was represented by Lambert Smith Hampton.
