Greater Manchester Pension Fund, has sold Park House, an impressive 18th century property facing Park Square, Leeds, for more than £2 million.
The 18,000sq ft former wool mill was on the market for the first time in more than 25 years.
It received considerable interest before being sold to Stonebridge Projects, which intends to relocate there from existing office space in Leeds. There is a Pizza Express restaurant on the ground floor and the other occupiers are Ryden LLP and AIM Legal Expenses.
A prime mixed-use property, Park House is at the heart of one of Leeds’s prime professional locations, with many legal, accounting and property firms in the vicinity. It stands at the corner of Park Square West and St Paul’s Street, and numbers brewer Joshua Tetley among its early residents.
Park Square owes its rich architecture to wealthy merchants who left the grimy centre of Leeds for a leafier neighbourhood.
Richard Dunn of Sanderson Weatherall, which acted for the vendor, said: “This property is probably one of the best small investment opportunities to have become available in central Leeds this year. Its relatively quick sale is indicative of this.”
Dresler Smith acted for Stonebridge Projects which is headquartered at offices in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
