Glasgow’s iconic Grosvenor Building enters a new chapter in its history as the newly refurbished building has just been launched to the Scottish property market.
The building has been completely refurbished by Ignis Real Estate for Ignis UK Property Fund at a cost of circa £3m. King Sturge’s Building consultancy team acted as lead consultant, designing and managing the entire refurbishment that now offers 50,083 sq ft of flexible open plan office space opposite Glasgow’s Central Station on Gordon Street.
George Shaw, Investment Director at Ignis Real Estate said: “Grosvenor is a magnificent Glasgow building and we firmly believe that the dynamics of the Glasgow market remain positive and justify our investment in this asset.”
Hidden behind the classic Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson facade now lies a stylist Grade A addition to Glasgow’s office market. King Sturge Building Consultancy Partner Ken Frew, who managed the refurbishment said: “We set out to raise the bar for Glasgow office refurbishments. The specification, finish and attention to detail are on par with many new buildings in the city and we believe that occupiers will be impressed by the quality of the fit-out.”
Alastair Cumming of GVA added: “Grosvenor is set to spearhead the rejuvenation of the supply pipeline in Glasgow, of which there has been much talk recently and we anticipate considerable interest in the building.”
King Sturge and GVA are joint agents for the Grosvenor Building.
