Lettings success at Portsmouth office scheme

Highcross' 1000 Lakeside North Harbour close to letting 100,000 sq ft this year

Highcross has let 70,000 sq ft of office space in Portsmouth at Lakeside North Harbour, since the beginning of the year, and has a further 30,000 sq ft of accommodation currently under offer. When these latest lettings complete, 1000 Lakeside will be 65% let, with just over 85,000 sq ft of business space still available.

Russell Mogridge of Hughes Ellard, joint agents for Lakeside with Vail Williams, says that the 100,000 sq ft of space either let or under offer at 1000 Lakeside on the 130-acre business park, accounts for half the total  take-up of office space in the Solent region so far this year: “The scheme’s location right on the motorway network, is a major attraction to businesses, together with the range of business space and excellent facilities. The existing 1000 Lakeside building and the proposals for the development of the wider Lakeside North Harbour site, provide superb opportunities for regional businesses looking for expansion space or new headquarters.”

Since the beginning of the year, a range of new occupiers have been attracted to the scheme from the Solent Corridor, including Market Makers, The Southern Co-operative and Path Intelligence. Highcross has also just agreed a letting of 54,000 sq ft on the first floor of 1000 Lakeside, to an unnamed company.

Highcross director, Nick Turner, adds: “These lettings secure Lakeside’s reputation as a leading location for business and demonstrate the range of high quality space available to companies employing from 10 to 300 staff. We have had a great start to the year, with a series of significant lettings already agreed and further deals anticipated to complete shortly.”

Located adjacent to Junction 12 of the M27 at the gateway to Portsmouth, 1000 Lakeside is set in extensively landscaped grounds and has almost 1,000 car parking spaces. Office space is available up to 40,000 sq ft, with a Regus business centre also located on site for companies requiring smaller accommodation.
