A forensic investigation practice, national Health and Social Care charity and biomedical innovation firm are the latest companies to move into laboratory and office space in Liverpool at the award-winning Liverpool Science Park. The arrival of Afentis Forensics, The Huntington’s Disease Association and Med Epad Ltd brings the total number of organisations based across the Park's two centrally located innovation centres to 65.
Afentis Forensics is a leading forensic investigation practice whose services have been used in numerous high profile and nationally significant cases. The firm offers a broad range of services including computer and telecommunication analysis, audio-visual exhibit assessments, DNA profiling and firearm studies, and is the only forensic provider that makes its own software.
Joining Afentis in innovation centre 1 is dynamic England and Wales wide charity The Huntington's Disease Association. The growing charity, which has over 8,500 members, supports people affected by Huntington's disease (HD) and also provides information to the families, friends and healthcare professionals which support Huntington's disease families.
Pioneering start-up company Med Epad Ltd has also moved into ic1. The company, which is receiving support from early-stage venture capital firm SPARK Impact, is developing a revolutionary mobile internet device with the potential to dramatically improve patients' health and social care.
Chloe Young, business development director at Liverpool Science Park, said: "We are delighted to welcome three such dynamic organisations as Afentis Forensics, The Huntington's Disease Association and Med Epad Ltd to the Park. They are the perfect compliment to Liverpool Science Park's growing community and we wish them every success here at Liverpool Science Park."
