CLS announces plans for Vauxhall office space

CLS Holdings has unveiled plans for a major redevelopment around its Vauxhall Cross headquarters

CLS Holdings has revealed plans to create new office space in Vauxhall as part of a £250 million redevelopment project.

The property company intends to overhaul a 2.9-acre site at Vauxhall Cross, where its headquarters are located, with a mixed-use scheme spanning approximately 1.2 million sq ft.

As well as 200,000 sq ft of offices, the project includes a 300-bed hotel, a cinema and 400 residential apartments.

There will also be a student accommodation building, 80,000 sq ft of retail space and a new public square, which the firm compared to Paternoster Square in central London.

Richard Tice, chief executive of CLS, said the development would establish Vauxhall as "the next major London growth zone".

He added: "We have already secured substantial support from early discussions with a number of key stakeholders and major nearby landowners."

The US Embassy is due to relocate from office space in Mayfair to nearby Nine Elms, with construction of its new headquarters scheduled to begin in 2013.
