Scott Brownrigg's MoD Joint Headquarters offices in Northwood, Middlesex have been shortlisted in the Partnership Bulletin Awards 2011 for “Best Operational Project”, to be announced at a ceremony in May.
Now in its 13th year, the awards, formerly known as the Public Private Finance Awards are judged by the most respected names in PFI/PPP and are recognised as the highest accolade available to the industry.
For the last ten years Scott Brownrigg has been providing masterplanning, architecture, town planning, space planning and interior design services to Carillion and the MoD Northwood Development team on the regeneration of this key MoD strategic site.
The 170,000 sq ft BREEAM “Excellent” Headquarters building is the new UK Joint Forces Headquarters and Multi National Force Headquarters and is the focal point of the regeneration project.
The building was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh on 6 May 2010. It provides radically improved, secure and distinctive new accommodation and will enable the implementation of step-change efficiencies in the operational planning and control of UK Joint Forces currently in Afghanistan, Iraq and other locations worldwide.
The last building at Northwood has recently been handed over and an official opening ceremony will take place in August 2011.
