Sidell Gibson’s recently completed commercial and residential development, No 1 Kingsway, has been highly commended in the Mixed-Use Architecture category at the UK Property Awards, also receiving the 5 Star Gold Award for the Best Residential Property Interior London UK and a Platinum Award for the Best Residential Property Interior UK.
Designed for UK & European Investments, the landmark Grade A development lies within the Strand Conservation Area in the City of Westminster and has been completely rebuilt behind its original 1920s Portland Stone façade. No 1 Kingsway now provides an outstanding, sustainable 105,000 sq ft office space in the heart of Midtown, seven high specification residential apartments and an exclusive European style brasserie, The Delaunay.
Following a design agenda driven by comfort, energy and reduced carbon emissions and running costs, the stylish, contemporary building achieved an Excellent BREEAM rating and an EPC rating of A.
Earlier in the year Sidell Gibson picked up a prestigious RIBA Award for its part in the design of One New Change. Designed in association with Ateliers Jean Nouvel, the 550,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme represents one of the largest consolidated retail spaces in Central London together with 330,000 sq ft of office space in the City of London, adjacent to St Pauls Cathedral, which when fully let will house around 3,000 office workers.
