Deal agreed for 185,000 sq ft BREEAM “Outstanding” building

Camden Council and King's Cross Central Limited Partnership have signed a deal to deliver innovative new office space in King’s Cross.
The new headquarters building, which comprises some 185,000 sq ft net internal area and aims to be rated BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, will deliver new offices for Camden Council, two floors for KCCLP to let to other occupiers, a major new Camden leisure facility, library and access centre.
The deal means that four major buildings are now coming forward at Pancras Square, which sits in a prime location between St Pancras International and King’s Cross stations.
Three Pancras Square is designed by leading architectural practice Bennetts Associates Architects. The upper and lower ground floors, basement and first floors will be given over to the major new public facilities. The upper floors will provide new administrative headquarters for Camden Council and two floors of high specification offices (comprising some 31,000 sq ft net internal area) which KCCLP will retain and let to other occupiers. Together, Camden Council and KCCLP are aiming for a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating. Three Pancras Square would be one of the first inner-city buildings in the UK to achieve this top sustainability rating.
Construction work on Three Pancras Square is expected to start in early 2012, with completion due in summer 2014. KCCLP will deliver the building and together KCCLP and Camden Council have selected Kier Build to be the building contractor.
Robert Evans from KCCLP said: “We are delighted to have signed this deal with Camden to deliver another first class building on Pancras Square. Three Pancras Square will be a very high quality building, combining flexible office spaces and modern public facilities with elegant architecture and the very highest standards of sustainability.”
