New West End offices for Capita Symonds
Real estate division relocates to new premises on Shaftsbury Avenue
Article posted: 01 Feb 2012
Following the lease expiry of its office space in Mayfair on Sackville Street, W1, Capita Symonds’ Real Estate division will this month relocate to new West End offices at 125 Shaftsbury Avenue.
Capita Symonds will occupy the entire fourth floor of fitted accommodation in the heart of London’s West End. The 19,300 sq ft floor has been sub-let until 2014 at a rent of circa £37 per sq ft.
This move is the first step in an initiative to bring all of Capita Symonds’ London operations under one roof in 2014, driven by the scheduled lease expiry of the company’s largest London offices in Holborn on Procter Street. The search for a 60,000 sq ft building to accommodate the company’s London staff is currently underway.
Alan Dornford, Director of Markets for Capita Symonds, commented on the new accommodation: “This is a significant event for Capita Symonds Real Estate as it is the first piece in the puzzle in joining together Capita Symonds’ London operations in one central location in 2014. We are taking a flexible view on location - anywhere in Central London is currently being considered – and it can be a newly developed property or existing building earmarked for refurbishment. It is critical that Capita Symonds new London HQ can facilitate new ways of working and reflect our credentials as an employer of choice within the industry.
“Our Property Services and Markets teams are excited about starting 2012 with new offices. The offices on Shaftesbury Avenue will provide excellent accommodation for our staff until the 2014 relocation while maintaining a truly central London location for our clients.”
Capita Symonds’ Markets and Property Services clients include AXA, Royal London, Kames Capital, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Royal Mail, Pitney Bowes, Derwent and Shaftesbury.
DTZ represented the lessor. Capita Symonds acted for itself.
In Spring Capita Symonds’ is expected to announce the location of its new offices in Edinburgh.
