New developments arise from the sale of council's offices in Nottingham
As City Council consolidates office space in Nottingham, three sites will be redeveloped as a result

Nottingham City Council’s plans to relocate staff from inefficient city centre buildings to a single headquarters office, has resulted in the sale of three major sites which are set to be transformed into new office and retail space.
Work is already underway at the site of the former Treasury building which will be the new home of energy company E.ON who signed one of the biggest pre-lets outside of London in 2010 for 105,000 sq ft of new office space in Nottingham city centre, scheduled for completion in 2012. The nine-storey property will be Nottingham’s greenest office building with a BREEAM “Excellent” rating.
Severn House will be redeveloped into a mixed-use scheme by Westfield which plans to deliver office and retail space as part of the Broadmarsh Centre refurbishment.
Meanwhile Lawrence House will go on the market once the relocation of Nottingham’s Traffic Control Centre has gone ahead. Commenting on the sales of the property, Geoffrey Hibbert, Director of Property and Workplace Strategy said: "The up and coming sale of Lawrence House is the third of six city centre properties to be put up for sale, and we expect it to sell as quickly as Severns House and the former Treasury Building. These sales are being achieved years ahead of their target dates and each will secure local jobs and income as well as welcome capital receipts.”
