Clark Contracts hired for Glasgow office project

Scottish construction and refurbishment company Clark Contracts has been drafted in to work on a law firm's new office space in Glasgow.The company was awarded a £1.3 million deal to fit out the new Maclay Murray & Spens premises in the city's George Square after a competitive tender process, the Herald reports.
It expects to complete the development by the end of February 2011, with 240 employees of the law firm due to relocate from their current offices in St Vincent Street.
Magnus Swanson, chief executive of Maclay Murray & Spens, said Clark Contracts has been asked to create a "significantly enhanced working environment" at the historic former Post Office building.
"Our specialist fit-out team has a proven track record of successfully delivering large scale office fit-out projects for both the public and private sectors," added Gordon Cunningham, managing director of Clark Contracts.
Now known as G1 Glasgow, the Post Office building contains 130,997 sq ft of office space over nine floors.
