As 2011 draws to a close the total number of media and creative businesses who have made their home at office space within MediaCityUK buildings, The Greenhouse and The Pie Factory, referred to collectively as the Media Village, has now surpassed fifty.
A wide variety of start-ups and more established companies, specialising in everything from TV production; digital marketing; web development and video gaming to camera hire, legal services and PR, are now situated in The Peel Group development of office space in Salford Quays.
MediaCityUK is also the new base for BBC North, ITV, Coronation Street, the University of Salford and Satellite Information Services (SIS).
Stephen Wild, managing director, MediaCityUK, said: “We are very pleased with the number of businesses which have been attracted to The Greenhouse and The Pie Factory. Both buildings are proving to be ideal locations for creative companies wanting to take advantage of the MediaCityUK environment. Small and medium sized businesses can benefit from flexible contracts while enjoying proximity to the key players. We look forward to more companies joining us here at Salford Quays”
The Pie Factory was converted from a pie-making factory into sound stages and office accommodation in 2007, when work on phase one of MediaCityUK commenced. The Greenhouse, previously the main construction offices, was launched by Peel in April 2011, to meet the growing demand from small businesses.
