Mailbox sale could bring Birmingham office space to market

Mailbox announces sale of office space in Birmingham

Article posted: 25 Nov 2010
The owners of The Mailbox have announced plans to sell the iconic office space in Birmingham.

With a potential value of £150 million, the premises are set to go under the hammer in the new year and as a result, commercial agents CB Richard Ellis and GVA Grimley have been appointed to investigate the market.

"As the UK's largest mixed use building, The Mailbox is a significant landmark for Birmingham and has been a catalyst for further regeneration of the area," property owner Alan Chatham commented.

He added that there is a great deal of demand for office space in Birmingham, therefore, it is likely the property will achieve an excellent price when sold.

The Mailbox offers a wide range of amenities besides office space, including waterside restaurants, salons, exclusive stores and 24-hour parking.

It was opened in 1998 and was the redevelopment of the former Royal Mail sorting office in Birmingham city centre.
