Green light for Woking office development
Planning permission granted for 27,000 sq ft of new office space in Surrey

Planning permission has been granted to develop 27,000 sq ft of new office space in Woking on Chertsey Road.
Architect Holder Mathias designed the scheme which will comprise a six–storey main office block with an adjoining smaller three–storey residential and office building.
The main six-storey block will provide modern office space suitable for multiple businesses or single occupancy.
Natasha Chibireva, associate director at Holder Mathias commented: “This was a complex site as the building is situated near residential terraced housing, as well as office developments from the 1970s and ’80s. By designing a scheme with two very distinctive elements, we allowed the building to relate to its varying surroundings, while still giving it a unique identity.
“The building signals arrival into the town centre, where its uncompromisingly modernist appearance stands out, yet remains sympathetic to the surrounding, largely 1980s, office developments.”
The new building will be located on the same road as another Holder Mathias designed project, Waterman House, a 21,000 sq ft office block which was granted planning permission last year.
The practice’s other previous workplace projects include the refurbishment of offices in Central London, which are let to the House of Commons, and the redevelopment of 3,300 sq m of flexible office space in Reigate.
