Commercial Property to Rent in Oxfordshire & Serviced Offices to Let in the County of Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire, or the County of Oxford in South East England, borders Northamptonshire (to the North/North East), Buckinghamshire (to the East), Berkshire (to the South), Wiltshire and Swindon (to the South West), Gloucestershire (to the West) and Warwickshire (to the North). Oxfordshire is broadly situated in the land between the River Thames to the south, the Cotswolds to the west, the Chilterns to the east and the Midlands to the north.

It is divided into five local government districts: Oxford, Cherwell, Vale of White Horse, West Oxfordshire and South Oxfordshire. The main centre of population is the city of Oxford. Other significant settlements are Banbury, Bicester, Kidlington, and Chipping Norton to the north of Oxford; Witney to the west; Thame and Chinnor to the east; and Abingdon, Wantage, Didcot, Wallingford and Henley-on-Thames to the south. Other significant towns include; Carterton, Grove and Faringdon.

The area was part of the Cotswolds wool trade from the 13th century, generating much wealth, particularly in the western portions of the county in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Morris Motors was founded in Oxford in 1912, bringing heavy industry to an otherwise agricultural county. Oxfordshire Day is observed every 19th of October (also the principal feast day of our county patron saint, Frideswide).

The University of Oxford was founded around 1096, though its collegiate structure did not develop until later on. It is the third oldest surviving university in the world and the oldest surviving in the English-speaking world and is regarded as one of the world's leading academic institutions.

Arguably the most famous building in Oxfordshire is Blenheim Palace at Woodstock. It was built by the great architect John Vanbrugh for John Churchill, the first Duke of Marlborough, after he had won the battle of Blenheim. The gardens were designed by the landscape gardener "Capability Brown", who planted the trees in the battle formation of the victorious troops. Sir Winston Churchill was born here.

The county has a major tourism industry. The area is noted for the concentration of performance motorsport companies and facilities. Oxford University Press has headed a concentration of print and publishing firms; the university is also linked to the concentration of local biotechnology companies.

Situated in the very heart of England and only 50 miles from central London, Oxford lies just west of the M40 at junction 8. It has good rail links into London and offers a high standard of living with a vibrant social scene.

The County of Oxfordshire offers a range of flexible serviced offices in the mix of towns along with traditional leasehold offices to let plus virtual offices and meeting rooms to rent.  For details and expert advice in securing offices to rent in Oxfordshire, please contact your Oxfordshire commercial office space expert via http://freeofficesearch.co.uk or contact us via the National Office Space Free Phone number on 0800 0710 710.  We guarantee that one of our experts with local knowledge of the Oxfordshire area will be able to save you money on your office rental today.
