Park City Office Space to Rent & Offices to Lease in Park City, Utah
Located in Northern Utah, Park City is one of two major resort towns in Utah, the other being Moab. Utah is bordered by Nevada to the West, Arizona to the South, New Mexico to the South-East, Colorado to the East, Wyoming to the North-East and Idaho to the North. Within Utah, Park City is approximately 60 miles south of Ogden, 300 miles north of St George and within a short drive of Sandy and Salt Lake City.
After the first settlement in the Salt Lake City Valley, the first known discovery of this area was by Colonel Patrick E. Connor who instigated his men to search the area in bringing non-Mormons to the Utah region. The finding of precious silver, gold and lead sparked the first silver mines in Park City in the 1860s. In 1872, this town was founded and dedicated by George Snyder and his family on their journey to current Salt Lake City and was known as Synderbasin, which later earned the name of Parley's Park City, and then shortened to Park City in the early 1900s. Park City’s large mining boom brought large crowds of prospectors setting up camps around the mountain terrain, marking the first mining settlements. The Daly Mining Company and Anchor Mining Company were two of the first major producers. While silver was thriving in Utah, other mines across the world were depleted, drawing many of these miners to Park City. The town flourished with crowds of miners and wealth. However, the city nearly became a ghost town by the end of the 1950s because of a drop in the price of silver and the determent of World War I and the Great Depression. The city rebounded during the 1980s and 1990s through an expansion of its tourism business. The city currently brings in a yearly average of $529,800,000 to the Utah Economy as a tourist hot spot. The city has three major ski resorts: Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and The Canyons Resort. The Park City and Deer Valley ski resorts were the major locations for ski and snowboarding events at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Although they receive less snow and have a shorter ski season than do their counterparts in Salt Lake County, such as Snowbird resort, they are much easier to access. In 2008, Park City was named by Forbes Traveler Magazine among one of the 20 'prettiest towns' in the United States. It continues to be published in top ski and adventure magazines across the world.
The closest international airport is Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), located approximately 30 miles west, and serves as a hub for Delta Air Lines and Delta Connection partner SkyWest Airlines. The airport offers non-stop domestic and international flights to cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Cancun, and Paris.
Park City operates a free bus service aimed as much at tourists as it is at residents and includes the Historic Main Street Trolley. By road, Park City is served by several interstate highways including I-80 which runs west to San Francisco via Reno and Sacramento and east to Turnpike, New Jersey via Cheyenne, Omaha, Des Moines, Chicago and Cleveland. I-15, accessed via Salt Lake City, runs north to the Canadian Border and south to San Diego via St George, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. I-15 branches off to the south of Sandy onto I-70 heading east to Denver. I-84 runs north-west to Portland via Boise.
Additionally the city is the main location of the United States' largest independent film festival, the Sundance Film Festival, home of the United States Ski Team, training centre for members of the Australian Freestyle Ski Team and the largest collection of factory outlet stores in northern Utah.
