Serviced Offices to Let in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire & Commercial Office Space to Rent in Aylesbury

Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire, England and is located 40 miles northwest of London, 30 miles southwest of Bedford and 22.5 miles northeast of Oxford. The postcodes for the town of Aylesbury are HP19, HP20 and HP21 and the town has a population of approximately 56,000.

The oldest settlement that left traces in the area was an Iron Age hill fort dating back to around 650 BC. During the Anglo-Saxon times, Aylesbury became a market town that benefited from the many pilgrims who came to visit the burial site of Saint Osyth. William the Conqueror took the manor of Aylesbury for himself during his invasion in1066 and it therefore appears in the Domesday Book as a royal manor. In 1529, Henry VIII declared Aylesbury county town of Buckinghamshire, effectively replacing Buckingham, allegedly to curry favour from Thomas Boleyn, the father of Anne Boleyn. During the English Civil War, Aylesbury was a stronghold of the Parliamentarian forces and site of the Battle of Aylesbury. Luis XVIII spent his exile in Aylesbury from 1810 to 1814, during which his wife Marie Josephine of Savoy died and became the only French Queen to be buried on English soil.

Aylesbury is bracketed by the M40 from Bromsgrove to London over Redditch, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Southam, Banbury, Brackley, Bicester, Oxford and High Wycombe and the M1 motorway from Leeds to London over Dewsbury, Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Nottingham, Derby, Loughborough, Leicester, Rugby, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Luton, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead. Moreover, it lies 20 miles northwest of the M25 circling London and connecting Loughton to Domewood, Epping, Brentwood, Upminster, South Ockendon, Dartford, Darenth, Swanley, Sevenoaks, Westerham, Oxted, Godstone, Caterham, Redhill, Reigate, Tadworth, Epsom, Leatherhead, Oxshott, Downside, Cobham, West Byfleet, New Haw, Addlestone, Chertsey, Virginia Water, Egham, Staines, Uxbridge, Rickmansworth, Watford, Abbots Langley, St. Albans, Potters Bar, Waltham Cross and Waltham Abbey. The town has its own station which is served by Chiltern Railways connecting London, Euston, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Princes Risborough, Bicester, Banbury, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Solihull, Stourbridge, Kidderminster and Birmingham.

Attractions in Aylesbury include the Aylesbury Clocktower, the Corn Exchange, St Mary’s Church, the Royal Bucks Hospital, the Bucks County Museum complex and the Methodist Church. The town has many night clubs and bars and during the 1970's and 1980's a club called Friars’ Club hosted concerts of The Clash, Queen, U2, Genesis, David Bowie and The Ramones.

Other major settlements in Buckinghamshire include: Amersham, Beaconsfield, Buckingham, Burnham, Chesham, High Wycombe, Marlow, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Fenny Stratford, Stony Stratford, Wolverton, Newport Pagnell, Olney, Princes Risborough, Wendover, Winslow and Woburn Sands.
