Lowestoft is a town in the county of Suffolk, England. It is located 27 miles southeast of Norwich, 43.3 miles northeast of Ipswich and 62.9 miles northeast of Colchester. Lowestoft originally was a small fishing and farming town situated on top of a cliff in the northern part of Suffolk. As it had no harbour, the fishing and boat building industries had to used the facilities offered by the north beach.
